Mazu International Festival

This is an international-level religious event.

Every year in March, the Mazu parade travels from Dajia Jenn Lann Temple to Hsinkang Fengtian Temple in Chiayi, before returning to Dajia. The total distance is about 300 kilometers, attracting tens of thousands of devotees to follow the procession, while the faithful worship and pray for blessings all along the way. The event is a solemn and magnificent affair, and is ranked as one of the three major religious events in the world.
