A unique Hakka community festival
Sindingban is a rice dish used to offer thanks to the gods when celebrating the birth of a child to the family. It has slowly evolved into an annual cultural event that combines a street procession and a centuries-old competition (making the heaviest rice dish) that takes place on the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar to showcase the unique culture of the Hakka community.
