Huangxi Academy

Huangxi Academy is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Dadu District and is designated as a municipal historic site in Taichung City. Commonly known as a Wenchang Temple, Huangxi Academy once served as an educational and cultural center for the historic Dadu area, which included Dadu, Wuri, and Longjing. It was built in 1887, during the 13th year of the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty.

The academy is distinguished by its exquisite building materials, architectural design, and construction techniques, particularly its renowned brick-carving craftsmanship. It is considered an outstanding example of educational architecture from the late Qing period. With its rich historical atmosphere and distinctive architectural features, Huangxi Academy is well suited as a filming location for productions featuring historical themes.
