Taichung’s first multi-purpose flood control park
In the past, Caohu in Dali District was often flooded during heavy rains, so the city combined the flood storage function with a playground to turn Caohu Park into a disaster prevention park. It is Taichung’s first multi-purpose flood control park. The park has a water storage capacity of 12,500 cubic meters and an area of 0.77 hectares, with a stormwater storage tank at the bottom and a permeable pavement on the surface. The park is designed as a storage pond to reduce the flooding problem in the area.
In addition to being a flood control space, the park also has a basketball court and an integrated children’s playground. The jellyfish-shaped jungle gym slide is an eye-catching feature, making it a good choice for film crews to shoot park scenes.
