Located in the World Flower Expo park in Houli, Taichung, which was formerly the Houli Racecourse established during the Japanese colonial period, it has a history of over a hundred years and is one of the earliest public racecourses in Taiwan. Since 2018, in order to host the 'Taichung World Flower Expo', the Houli Racecourse and the Forest Park have been transformed into the main exhibition area for the flower expo. The space has undergone renovation and landscape reconstruction, preserving historical structures while incorporating sustainable ecological concepts. The overall park combines two major themes: the 'Racecourse Forest Park' and the 'Houli Racecourse Park'. It features a Forest Pavilion, a Flower Dance Pavilion, an Equestrian Performance Area, an Indigenous Craft Exhibition Area, and vast outdoor flower fields. This fusion of nature, culture, and urban memory creates a green space that serves aesthetic, educational, and tourism functions. After the exhibition, parts of the park will be opened as a recreational area for citizens, continuing to develop as an important ecological and cultural activity hub in Houli. It also serves as an important symbol witnessing local transformation and land regeneration.
