Virtuosi Hall at Feng Chia University is one of the signature works in Taiwan by internationally renowned architect Kuma Kengo. Its design integrates the philosophy of "negative architecture" with the core value of "Virtuous Coexistence Education" at Feng Chia University, presenting a model of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
The architectural details of Virtuosi Hall showcase extraordinary technical challenges: the main structure consists of 191 steel beams, each with a unique size; among the 1,750 glass curtain wall panels, there are 1,000 different specifications; the 4,900 Japanese cypress louvers are divided into 3,400 size variations; and the most distinctive eaves, a hallmark of Kuma Kengo's architecture, include 1,100 different sizes among 1,183 inverted panels. These numbers fully demonstrate Virtuosi Hall's pursuit of perfection in detail, meaning the construction process was filled with challenges—every component required meticulous calculation and superb craftsmanship to ultimately present this unique landmark that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern architectural aesthetics.
