A perfectly preserved Japanese Budo hall
The Martial Arts Compound of the Taichung Criminal Law Enforcement Office was built in 1937 during the Japanese rule as a Budo hall for prison officials and police officers to practice martial arts. The compound is perfectly preserved and characteristic of Japanese architecture, and now serves as a cultural space for the promotion of the Six Arts. Behind the Martial Arts Compound, there is a cluster of dormitories for the officials of the Criminal Law Enforcement Office, which has retained the style of the era.
