Bright sparks flying in the dark
The Firefly Festival is held every year from April to May. The Dongshi Forest Garden and Ruanpikeng Leisure Agricultural Area in Dongshi District are the main firefly-watching spots in Taichung. The natural and clean environment of the areas have been maintained, allowing fireflies to dance about like stars among the trees and plants in late spring and creating a romantic and mysterious atmosphere.
