A timber train station from the Japanese colonial era at the site where the tracks diverge for the mountain and coastal lines
As one of the five remaining timber train station from the Japanese colonial era on the coastal line, the Zhuifen Station was built in 1922 to serve as a divergence point for the mountain and coastal lines, hence the name “Zhuifen”, meaning the divergence point of the road in Japanese. The station is a timber structure that retained its original tone and texture of the wood and bullseye windows, making it a heritage that is both rustic and valuable.
