A station on the Taiwan Railway Administration’s Taichung Line, (New) Taichung Station is located in Xinzhuang Village, East District of Taichung City. There are many highway and national highway bus operators with stops in the vicinity, and most of the urban bus routes also stop here, making it a very important transit hub for the Taichung metropolitan area. The current roof of the station resembles a butterfly spreading its wings and is 37 meters above the roof, about 12 stories high, making it the tallest railroad station in Taiwan’s railroad system.
