1035 Collab(café&gallery)

  • Category: Central Districts/historic buildings
  • Address: No. 73, Shifu Rd., Central Dist., Taichung City

Located in the old city area of Taichung, 1035 is divided into two buildings, with one dating back to the Showa period and the other to the Taisho period, featuring a blend of Western-style and Japanese wooden architecture. The two buildings are connected by a courtyard, with a Japanese-style garden at the rear. The façade is understated in a muted gray and white color scheme, while the ground floor is adorned with gray and white gravel columns, embellished with geometric patterns such as borders and diamonds. The second floor boasts greenish-blue gravel walls and grooved brickwork, exuding a contemporary and fashionable aesthetic. These architectural details retain the craftsmanship of the Japanese colonial era and encapsulate a century of cultural heritage. Today, they are meticulously preserved by the architectural team. Production crews seeking to capture the ambiance of an old mansion are welcomed to this location.
