Taichung Fiber Crafts Museum is the first city-level public museum in Taichung and the first professional museum in the country dedicated to fiber as its primary theme.

The museum integrates Taiwan's cultural context and natural resources, using its existing collections of Han Chinese, Taiwanese Indigenous peoples, Southwestern Chinese ethnic minorities, and contemporary creations as a foundation. It serves as a platform that bridges fiber creators and artifacts, preserving the cultural heritage of fiber crafts.

The museum’s mission is centered around "Fiber, Fashion, and Green Crafts," upholding the four primary functions of a museum: collection, research, exhibition, and education. With a collection of over 1,200 fiber artifacts that possess historical, cultural, and artistic value, the museum aims to share these richly profound and aesthetically pleasing fiber craft artifacts with the public. Through innovative experimentation, the museum fosters a dialogue between craft and art, revitalizing traditional techniques and shaping a new visage for them in contemporary society.
