Nantun Hemp Cultural Museum

  • Category: Nantun Districts/Space for Art and Culture
  • Address: No. 56, Sec. 1, Wanhe Rd., Nantun Dist., Taichung City 408011, Taiwan

In 2004, the Hemp Cultural Museum was established, showcasing the historical tracks of Liududian, the cultural development of hemp, and a creative gallery, among other systematic introductions. The museum is located on the fifth floor of the Wanhe Temple Cultural Building. After visiting, one will gain a deeper understanding of hemp. The local cultural work team actively promotes various activities related to hemp, such as guiding students through local education programs to learn about the growth process of hemp and experiencing the fun of making hemp ropes.

During the peak season from May to September, hemp is sold in various markets such as Nantun Market, Sanmin Road Second Market, and Xiangshang Road Market. When visiting Taichung, be sure to try a simple bowl of thick, jade-green hemp soup, which continues the cultural and dietary traditions of the early settlers.

Schools wishing to visit can contact the office for inquiries. Volunteer guides are available. Contact number: 04-23893285 Ms. Lin
