An Atayal tribal community hidden in the mountains

Sqoyaw Village, surrounded by mountains on all sides, is an Atayal tribal community. From the side of the highway, you can gaze upon the unique scene of houses overlapping each other in the valley. The former name of the community during the Japanese colonial era was “Sqoyaw”, meaning “Happy Street”, fully expressing the simplicity and joyfulness of the village. The community still maintains the lifestyle and culture of the Atayal people.
Up to 80% of the film “Hang in There, Kids!” was shot here. Anpei Yo, the famous freestyle scooter stunt artist also collaborated with Red Bull to shoot scooter stunt challenges here, fully showcasing the beauty of Sqoyaw Village.
