臺中建國市場 ，全稱臺中市公有建國零售市，是目前台中最大的傳統市場。占地約2.23公頃，販售魚貝蝦蟹類、肉品類、冷凍水產類、蔬果類、熟食、醬菜類、餐飲類、中藥類、南北雜貨類、麵條水餃類、調理食品（辦桌料）（火鍋料）、素食材料類等各式食材，另設有五金百貨專區，共進駐711個攤位。

建國市場於105年9月20日完成搬遷進駐。巴洛克式風格與紅磚外牆，延續著台中建築的老味道，規劃整齊的攤(舖)位格局與走道設計，期許能讓傳統市場接軌現代化的營運，展現傳統市集的新風采。

古今風格巧妙融合，食材寶庫因此吸引日本NHK劇組前往該市場拍攝取景。
