大墩分館原隸屬於臺中市政府文化局大墩文化中心內之圖書股,民國105年3月1日改制更名為「臺中市立圖書館大墩分館」。


館內1樓設有圖書館服務台、新到圖書、館藏查詢、樂齡區、期刊報紙區;二樓則規劃兒童中文開架閱覽區、故事屋、親子共讀區、期刊報紙區、館藏查詢、英文童書、漫畫區、B棟2樓:自習室、筆電優先使用區;3樓設有館藏特色、臺中學、館藏查詢、英語學習、開架閱覽區、B棟3樓青少年閱覽區:視聽資料、資訊檢索、討論室、辦公室;4樓為開架閱覽區與多元文化、5樓為閉架書庫與多功能活動室。在既有服務之外,亦設有行動圖書車定時定點前往南區、南屯區、北屯區、西屯區等行政區域18所小學輪流駐點,提供讀者方便借閱服務。


大墩分館定期舉辦中英文說故事及影片欣賞活動;並不定期辦理各項閱讀推廣活動。結合原有的各項圖書資訊服務及鄰近國立台灣美術館、草悟道等藝術、休閒文教區,發展更多元化的圖書生活美學。

On the first floor of the museum, there is a library service desk, newly arrived books, collection inquiry, music age area and periodical and newspaper area; On the second floor, children's Chinese open-shelf reading area, story house, parent-child reading area, periodicals and newspapers area, collection inquiry, English children's books, comics area, and the second floor of Building B: study room and laptop priority area; On the 3rd floor, there are collection features, Taiwan Middle School, collection inquiry, English study, open-shelf reading area, and youth reading area on the 3rd floor of Building B: audio-visual materials, information retrieval, discussion room and office; The fourth floor is the open-shelf reading area and multi-culture, and the fifth floor is the closed stacks and multi-functional activity room. In addition to the existing services, there is also a mobile library van to regularly and regularly go to 18 primary schools in administrative areas such as South District, Nantun District, Beitun District and Xitun District to provide readers with convenient borrowing services.

Dadun branch regularly holds Chinese and English story-telling and film appreciation activities; Do not regularly handle various reading promotion activities. Combine the original books and information services with the neighboring national Taiwan Province Art Museum, Caowudao and other art, leisure, cultural and educational areas to develop more diversified aesthetics of book life.
